2. Full Dentures & Partial Dentures
Complete dentures can be either "conventional" or "immediate." Made after the teeth have been removed and the gum tissue has begun to heal, a conventional denture is ready for placement in the mouth about eight to 12 weeks after the teeth have been removed. Unlike conventional dentures, immediate dentures are made in advance and can be positioned as soon as the teeth are removed. As a result, the wearer does not have to be without teeth during the healing period. However, bones and gums shrink over time, especially during the healing period following tooth removal. Therefore a disadvantage of immediate dentures compared with conventional dentures is that they require more adjustments to fit properly during the healing process and generally should only be considered a temporary solution until conventional dentures can be made.
A removable partial denture or bridge usually consists of replacement teeth attached to a pink or gum-colored plastic base, which is connected by metal framework that holds the denture in place in the mouth. Partial dentures are used when one or more natural teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw. A fixed (permanent) bridge replaces one or more teeth by placing crowns on the teeth on either side of the space and attaching artificial teeth to them. This "bridge" is then cemented into place. Not only does a partial denture fill in the spaces created by missing teeth, it prevents other teeth from changing position. A precision partial denture is removable and has internal attachments rather than clasps that attach to the adjacent crowns. This is a more natural-looking appliance.
3. Dental Implants
Most people these days are aware of Dental Implants, however they believe that it is too expensive and too painful to be of benefit to them. Today's implant procedures are becoming more affordable and less invasive, as almost on a monthly basis new systems and techniques hit the market. Implant supported dentures provide tremendous support and fixation so eating, speaking and smiling is more comfortable. Patients with loose lower dentures are great candidates.
4. Same day Denture Repairs and Relines
Our offices are equipped with onsite laboratories, denture repairs and relines can be done the same day (45 minutes minimum wait for minor repairs and 1.5 hours minimum wait for relines)
5. Same day dentures/Immediate dentures
Same Day Dentures work extremely well for many people. If you need dentures, but still need to have teeth extracted, these could be a great investment. Instead of having unflattering holes in your mouth after having teeth extracted, same day dentures can be placed in your mouth and makes it look as if you have a full set of teeth! As a matter of fact, Same Day Dentures can reduce bleeding after the extraction of the tooth, and also quicken the healing process. You must keep these dentures in for days after your tooth extraction since your gums will still be swollen. If you take them out you will not be able to put them back in until the swelling subsides. Unfortunately, Same Day Dentures fall out after about three to six months of having them. Many people then just have another set of dentures made or refit the denture by relining.
6. Soft Liner
Soft Liners are a medical grade soft polymer material applied to the tissue-fitting surface of your hard denture base. Soft liners behave like a shock-absorbing cushion when you are chewing. Soft liners can be applied to new dentures, old dentures, relines and rebase situations.
